Fine Details
There is no limit to the number of raffle tickets you may purchase. You may purchase tickets on behalf of another person if you wish.
The $1,000 credit towards the winner's electric bill will be provided directly to the electric utility provider for the winner's residential home (business and/or industrial accounts are not eligible). A Kindness Rocks U.P. Michigan representative will contact the winner's electric utility provider and make a credit payment on the winner's account in the $1,000 amount. The winner will need to provide us with the electric utility provider name and account number for the service to receive the credit.
If the winner's electric utility service is not directly paid (i.e. if the cost of this service is included in the winner's housing rent), the credit will be provided to the landlord (or other legally responsible equivalency thereto) with the explicit direction to credit the $1,000 to the winner's portion of the property electric bill or the winner's rent if the landlord does not support crediting the electric utility costs specifically. If the winner's residential home does not have electric service (i.e. off-grid homes), the credit will be applied toward the gas service bill to the residential home instead.
The $1,000 prize will be credited towards only one electric service account; the prize cannot be "split" between multiple accounts.
The $1,000 credit towards the winner's gas bill will be provided directly to the gas utility provider for the winner's residential home (business and/or industrial accounts are not eligible). A Kindness Rocks U.P. Michigan representative will contact the winner's gas utility provider and make a credit payment on the winner's account in the $1,000 amount. The winner will need to provide us with the gas utility provider name and account number for the service to receive the credit. If the winner's gas utility provider does not support account crediting or otherwise does not operate on a per-account basis, a Kindness Rocks U.P. Michigan representative will coordinate an appropriate alternative with the winner that fulfills the same purpose to the next-nearest equivalent ability.
If the winner's gas utility service is not directly paid (i.e. if the cost of this service is included in the winner's housing rent), the credit will be provided to the landlord (or other legally responsible equivalency) with the explicit direction to credit the $1,000 to the winner's portion of the property gas bill or the winner's rent if the landlord does not support crediting the gas utility cost specifically. If the winner's residential home does not have gas service (i.e. all-electric home), the credit will be applied toward the electric service bill to the residential home instead.
If the winner does not have electric nor gas service to their residential home (i.e. totally self-sustained home), a representative of Kindness Rocks U.P. Michigan will coordinate an appropriate alternative with the winner that fulfils the same purpose to the next-nearest equivalent ability.
The $1,000 prize will be credited towards only one gas service account; the prize cannot be "split" between multiple accounts.
The $1,000 grocery shopping spree prize will be provided to the winner in the form of pre-paid gift card(s) eligible for use at the store the winner chooses. The winner is required to inform us of which company / store they want the gift cards purchased for usage.
The chosen store must be one that provides grocery, food, or household supply items as one of its primary or main product offerings. Stores that do not sell food and/or household supplies as one of their main product offerings are not eligible (i.e. electronic stores or gas stations). Online stores (i.e. Amazon) are eligible, but winners are strongly encouraged to select a local "brick and mortar" store instead to further support local and small businesses in their community.
The $1,000 prize cannot be "split" between multiple stores; a single store must be chosen. The chosen store must support the ability to purchase and use gift card(s) for only that company's store(s) and location(s).
Pre-paid credit or debit cards will not be provided; the prize will be presented only as gift card(s) to a specific store company the winner chooses.
The winner is not permitted to "cash-out" the gift cards at any store(s) for cash value. The winner is also not permitted to resell or otherwise "trade-in" the gift cards to any third party.
Although the usage of the gift card(s), including the individual items purchased, are ultimately at the discretion of the winner, we strongly encourage the winner to follow the intended purpose of the prize, which is to provide food and household supplies to the winner's household. If the winner desires to purchase food and/or household supplies for households of others, including the purchase of food and/or household supplies for charities, food pantries, or similar organizations, they may do so at their discretion.
Winners are not required to accept the prize amounts or values; they may elect to donate the prize back into Kindness Rocks U.P. Michigan if they so choose. Winners are permitted to "gift" the prize to another person if they choose, but must provide written authorization confirming this decision and the receiver must provide written authorization confirming their desire to allow such a "gift" to be received.
